Campus Signage and Rebranding at Yale New Haven Health

The Challenge

Updating signage across an active hospital campus requires careful coordination to minimize disruptions to daily operations.

Following AIS's original signage installation in 2016, Yale New Haven Health initiated a new campus rebranding program. The project involved updating existing signage and introducing new elements to reflect the health system's current branding, all while the hospital remained open and fully operational.

With work divided into multiple phases, AIS needed to coordinate fabrication and installation across different areas of the campus while accommodating the hospital's ongoing operations.

The Scope

AIS's work includes signage manufacturing, refacing, and installation across multiple areas of the Yale New Haven Health campus.

The rebranding program is organized into three phases:

• 2024 – Orchard Street Garage: Signage updates completed in 2024.
• 2026 – Neurosurgery Department: Signage completed in two stages during 2026.
• 2027 – Emergency Department: Final signage phase scheduled for completion in early 2027.
• The current program builds on AIS's original signage installation at the hospital in 2016.

How AIS Delivered

Building on a strong client relationship established through its original work in 2016, AIS was selected to support Yale New Haven Health's latest rebranding program.

The project was divided into three phases spanning 2024 through early 2027, allowing signage updates to progress while the hospital remained operational.

The Result

The completed phases have refreshed signage across key areas of Yale New Haven Hospital while allowing the facility to continue serving patients throughout the project.

The ongoing work reflects the strong relationship AIS has built with Yale New Haven Health over the past decade. Since the original signage installation in 2016, AIS has continued supporting the hospital's evolving signage needs.

The final Emergency Department phase is scheduled for completion in early 2027.
