Completed LED video scoreboard at UCF John Euliano Park baseball stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Project Spotlight

An 815 sq. ft. LED videoboard, built for the outfield.

Working with Sansi North America, AIS installed a new LED video scoreboard at the University of Central Florida's John Euliano Park, fabricated channel letters, restored the existing steel structure, and engineered custom protective netting.

The Challenge

Located just beyond the right-centerfield fence, the new videoboard had to be installed inside an active baseball stadium. Rather than replacing the existing steel support structure, the project required preparing the weathered beams for reuse.

With the videoboard positioned beyond the outfield fence, protecting the screen from home run balls and batting practice was an important consideration.

Working inside a baseball stadium also introduced an unusual jobsite consideration: baseballs traveling into the construction area during batting practice. In addition to standard construction safety procedures, AIS crews had to remain aware of activity on the field throughout the installation.

The Scope

Working with Sansi North America, American/Interstate Signcrafters (AIS) supported the installation of a new 815-square-foot LED videoboard at the University of Central Florida's John Euliano Park baseball stadium. The display features a 10 mm pixel pitch and a resolution of 696 × 1,088 pixels, totaling more than 750,000 pixels.

  • LED videoboard installation
  • Channel letter fabrication and installation
  • Restoration of the existing steel support structure
  • Custom protective netting system
  • Display dimensions: 22'10" H × 35'8" W
  • Display area: Approximately 815 sq. ft.
  • Pixel pitch: 10 mm
  • Resolution: 696 × 1,088 pixels
  • Total pixels: 757,248

How AIS Delivered

AIS crews scraped, sanded, and prepared the steel for repainting, restoring the structure's appearance before the new videoboard was installed. This approach allowed the existing framework to be incorporated into the updated scoreboard installation.

AIS developed and fabricated a custom protective system using steel arms extending in front of the display to support safety netting. The netting was designed to be lowered when needed, allowing access to the screen for servicing and maintenance.

AIS crews coordinated installation activities around the conditions of an active baseball stadium, including batting practice.

The Result

A new 815-square-foot LED videoboard with more than 750,000 pixels, mounted on the restored steel structure and protected by netting that can be lowered for servicing.

The completed project demonstrates AIS's ability to combine large-format digital signage installation with custom fabrication and site-specific solutions.
